Battery Bar seems to make explorer to "lag"
i recognised some strange issue with the battery bar...
when my battery is connected (in slot) it seems to causes lags on my system, when i remove the battery from slot (on ac, of cause) it runs better.. I'm not realy shure, if it is a BB problem, but it seems so, so this is a kind of bug report and even a question if others have the same issues.. System: Windows 7 x64 Professional on a Dell Studio 1737 May also interesting, running aps: mirc, miranda, firefox, thunderbird, avast free5 , fdm, power menu, teamviewer, birdie sync, services from dell, ati, visual studio 2008, expression studio, dell, alps touchpad, bluetooth stack from MS, intelli point and some sidebar gadgets using: .Net Framework 3.5 with SP1 hope these are enough informations... |

RE: Battery Bar seems to make explorer to "lag"
Are you sure the issue is due to BatteryBar? The most likely explanation is that you have your power options set to use low power modes while running on battery. The power saver power mode causes the CPU to only run at about 50% maximum speed to reduce power consumption.

Check to make sure your Power Scheme in Windows is set to Balanced and then let me know.

RE: Battery Bar seems to make explorer to "lag"
yes it is, i modified some things of them, to improve the runtime on battery, but what i talking about appers on A/C with plugged battery... the clue is, it's not a constant behavior ... sometimes its reacting like without battery and sometimes i have to wait about 4 or more setting to switch to another app ... this happens in the same session.. i mean, i go on from hibernate to recharge it, because i used it on battery and then i sometimes realize those "lags" ... when doen recharging, and i remove battery, all runs good without lags, ... i hope you know what i mean..
my A/C sheme is mostly the same like original, i just set off the standby settings from hdd an monitor .. so it's always on in A/C |

RE: Battery Bar seems to make explorer to "lag"
Do those issues go away if you turn off BatteryBar and reboot so that BatteryBar isn't running when you startup (note: just turning off the toolbar is not sufficient to unload/disable the application due to the way toolbars work).

RE: Battery Bar seems to make explorer to "lag"
If you are using the taskbar toolbar version (shows on your taskbar), then you right-click, choose Close Toolbar, then log off and log back on again. If you are using the floating toolbar (version for the Desktop), just right-click and choose Exit.

RE: Battery Bar seems to make explorer to "lag"
so, i've testet it now, with unloading battery bar as described... and it does not lag anymore... so the "lags" are have to be an batterybar issue ... may it is the update-sequenze when the battery informations are read...
at the moment i reactivated the batterybar (taskbar version) it begins again to lag ... to se when switching fast betweem apps or just see the preview window from windoww 7 hope you can fix it |

RE: Battery Bar seems to make explorer to "lag"
Without being able to reproduce the issue, I can't know where in the code the problem is happening or how to resolve it. My guess is that the battery driver is taking a long time to respond to requests for battery status updates. The only thing I could do about that is allow users to change the update frequency. I can't do anything about the battery driver itself.
You can try submitting a log file for review: http://osirisdevelopment.com/wiki/Submit_a_bug_report Make sure that you turn on logging and then log off and back on again, use the computer for a while and then follow the steps to turn it off and submit the log. |
