Dell battery capacity mWh or mAh ?
Hello,
First thanks for the BatteryBar tool! I love it! I have a little problem with my Dell Studio, as you can see in the screenshoot, the capacity 5 253mWh seems to be wrong. I think it's 5253mAh so about 50 000mWh. Regards, |

RE: Dell battery capacity mWh or mAh ?
It looks like you're right, the battery does appear to be reporting mAh and not mWh. The problem is that the battery is SUPPOSED to report mWh per the spec. There's not mechanism to query the battery to find out if it's reporting mWh or mAh. The best that I could do would be to add an advanced option that would tell it to recalculate the values as if they were mAh. Other people have suggested similar things at http://feedback.osirisdevelopment.com. I suggest that you find one of those suggestions and vote it up.
For now, just multiple the value times your battery's voltage (usually around 11-12 volts). It's really just a reference anyway, and it does still correctly report percentage and time remaining. |

That's interesting. I haven't see that CapacityMultiplier value before. I'll have to check on that.

Hello, I would like to ask if this is still in the pipeline?
I'm considering a purchase and it is somewhat irritating that the tooltip displays the incorrect capacity figures. |

Unfortunately, this feature has not been included in any current release. I'll reevaluate it and see if it'll be possible to squeeze into the next release or if it's going to be too complicated.
